In July and August it is forbidden to drive in Death Valley.
In May, June and September this is only permitted but you do so at your own risk and there is no insurance cover. You are not covered by the insurance and are responsible for any towing, repair costs, etc (temperatures of up to 60 degrees celsius are possible then).
It is not permitted to drive to Manhatten, New York City (It is ok to drive in New York State), as well as on certain highways, e.g. 'The Apache Trail' in Arizona. Underground or underwater tunnels are also forbidden.

If you drive to Northern Canada or Alaska you do so at your own risk and no reimbursements or insurance cover for towing, break-downs, repairs, etc will be provided.

If you plan to visit Mexico you are required to purchase the additional insurance option locally (MALI) of US$ 22 per day and obtain prior written approval from the rental company. Any costs resulting from repairs, break-downs or other incurred losses that are occur in Mexico will not be reimbursed.

Travel in Summer months and/or in regions with extreme temperatures can result in damage to the air-conditioning system, the fridge and generator. We will do all it can to ensure that these systems work without a hitch and will inform the clients at pick-up time about how to use and take care of these. However, the rental company cannot guarantee that these will work propertly in extreme conditions and will not cover any repair or replacement costs incurred if clients drive in such extreme conditions or to/in regions exposed to such conditions.

One-way Rental Fees
One way rental within the USA is possible, please contact us for availability.

Storage
Free storage of luggage and airline tickets is available. All storage is at Renter's risk.

Security Deposit
Rentals require a security deposit of $700
An open credit card authorization is taken at departure for all rentals
Security deposits must be made by credit card and are processed
Deposits are refunded when the vehicle is returned complete with all equipment in a clean and undamaged condition

Repairs/Maintenance Responsibility
Our fleet of vehicles is in top mechanical condition. In the unlikely event that a mechanical failure occurs, guests are authorized to proceed with the necessary repairs up to $100. For expenses over $100, guests must telephone the rental station for authorization before proceeding with repairs. Replacement parts must be returned to the rental station for reimbursement. Guests assume full responsibility for damage to tires and undercarriage. Oil, tire pressure and coolant must be checked at each refueling. Costs for oil will be refunded upon presentation of receipts. The company's responsibility is limited to the refund of the daily gross rate, or portion thereof, if the breakdown repair is longer than 48 hours.

Insurance Terms
Public liability insurance
Public liability insurance is included in the daily rental rate. The rental company and their vehicles are insured for damages to third parties and/or their property.
The public liability insurance that covers the registered drivers is only up to the statutory limit as stipulated by law of the State you are in at the time. This upper amount insured is normally very low.
In order to increase the upper limit of your own third party insurance you should purchase the Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) option locally.

The maximum level of this insurance policy covers claims made by third parties against the rental company or the renter of the motorhome (in the case of third parties or their property). Passengers in the rental vehicle are not counted as third parties and the driver is therefore not insured for claims brought by them against him/herself.

Vehicle insurance
the Vehicle Incident Protection (VIP) insurance is included in the rental rate for all vehicles. This insurance reduces the renter's personal level of risk/excess (per incident) to US$ 700 if an accident happens or in the event of theft or vandalism, regardless of how or by whom any damage to the vehicle occurs - including if the renter is not at fault.
Exception: for damage that is not covered by the insurance see below under the heading 'Insurance Exclusions'. There are no additional insurance options available which waive or reduce this excess.

If damage occurs as a result of illegal or dangerous driving or if the renter drives outside the guidelines of the rental agreement no insurance will be provided. Please see below under 'Insurance Exclusions' for further details.

Additional insurance Options
You have the option of purchasing and additional third party insurance premium locally, which is called the Supplemental Liability Insurance (SLI) for US$ 12 per day + local taxes.
The SLI insurance option increases the third party insurance cover for those drivers registered in the rental agreement from the respective statutory limit provided by the Federal State up to a total of US$ 1 million.

If the renter decides to drive to Mexico he/she does so at his/her own risk and this is still only permitted with the prior approval of the station and if the renter purchase the Mexico Auto Liability Insurance option (MALI) for US$ 22 per day. Any costs for repairs, vehicle break-down or losses that occur there will not be reimbursed. There is no insurance (neither third party nor vehicle-related) if the vehicle is driven to Baja California/Mexico without the prior approval of the station and if this compulsory additional insurance has not been purchased.

Insurance Exclusions
All insurance cover is null and void if the terms of the rental agreement are breached. Any damage that is caused when the renter acts outside of the rental company conditions is not covered by the insurance.

Any water and/or saltwater related damage where the renter is at fault is not covered by the insurance. The insurance does not cover damage in the case of any vehicle submersion, the vehicle being stranded in a water area, driving through causeways or beach driving.

Any personal property that is damaged or stolen during an accident, vandalism or a theft is not insured. Private insurance should be purchased in your home country to cover any such issues. In order to avoid theft of personal items from the vehicle it is advised not to leave any valuable items in the vehicle.

In the cases listed below the renter is fully liable for damage to the rental vehicle and third-party property, i.e. no insurance cover whatsoever is provided in the following cases:

- water/saltwater-related damage as listed above
- activities that are in breach of the rental agreement conditions, e.g. driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol or dangerous driving (especially with regard to trailers and camping appendages)
In the following cases the renter is liable for the full amount of damage caused either to the rented vehicle or to the property of a third party involved
- damage to the interior of the vehicle
- damage to the underbody
- tyre or wheel damage
- any damage to the awning and slide-out apparatus
- damage caused by the use of the wrong fuel or when water or oil, etc are not topped up to minimum required levels (causing overheating, frost damage, etc) or where warning signals in the vehicle are ignored
- costs that arise for towing and recovery of vehicles that have been stranded or submerged as a result of the driver's actions.
- repairs and towing costs that are incurred because of driving on unpermitted roads or in forbidden areas.
- costs incurred if vehicle keys are either lost or locked in the vehicle
- if damage is caused as a result of people using the vehicle without the permission (not registered in rental agreement) of the rental company
- if more passengers are in the car than the maximum number allowed
- If any member of the rental party deliberately damages any part of the vehicle
